What To Expect

Initial consultation

Your first visit with us is designed to get an overall picture of your current health status and to ascertain if chiropractic treatment is suitable for your problem. When you arrive you will be greeted by one of our friendly assistants who will ask you to complete a questionnaire providing information about your condition, health history and current lifestyle. Your Chiropractor will then go through this in more depth with you. On completion he/she will perform a full examination including postural analysis and assessment of your spinal joint and muscle function to detect for the presence of any imbalances. This examination will also include orthopeadic, neurological and chiropractic tests. On conclusion of your examination your Chiropractor may require further tests such as x-rays or scans to assist in ascertaining a diagnosis.

Second visit (report of findings)

After your Chiropractor has studied your health history and correlated your examination findings, he/she will recommend treatment to relieve your symptoms and restore optimum joint and muscle function. We call this the Report of Findings. This two-visit approach accomplishes several things: * Reduces the length of your first visit * Gives us time to correlate our findings * Avoids overloading you with too much information Following your report of findings you will then receive your first chiropractic treatment. After the treatment you will be given recommendations on what you should and should not do to avoid irritating your problem and to ensure the best results. Exercises and stretches can also be prescribed to assist with the subsequent strengthening of muscles, ligaments and tendons and to counter unavoidable physical stresses. One of the benefits of chiropractic is that it is a relatively quick treatment.

Routine visits

Like with any health promoting activity or sport that you enjoy, the best results come from regular participation. In much the same way, the benefits of chiropractic care can be continued with consistent care and regular checkups. If your problem, work or sport leave you prone to poor postures or joint function, then problems that can lead to non participation in these activities can be addressed before they take effect.
